In the case of shimmer-circuit, a tiny bit latency is just additional delay. The recipe for shimmer is: PitchShifter + Delay + Reverb -> Feedback/Output. If you want to do lots of different reverbs hybrid is the way to go, but if you just want that classic shimmer sound, go with Valhalla.
